2017 Assurance Review

The College of Wooster  submitted a mid-cycle accreditation “Assurance Review” to the Higher Learning Commission (HLC) in June 2017.  The mid-cycle review is new for the HLC (it has been the practice in other regional accrediting organizations, such as Middle States).  The purpose of the review is to give the HLC “assurance” that we continue to meet its criteria for accreditation and to advance us to the next activity in the 10-year cycle, the “quality initiative” project. Unlike the decennial continuing accreditation review (aka “self-study”), the mid-cycle review does not include a site visit by the review team, unless the HLC believes such is warranted, so our interaction with the team is via email and/or phone during the process.
